The world has been living with travel restrictions and working from home for some weeks now, and some reports suggest that 25% of the world’s population are in ‘lock down’.
So is it business as usual in medical education? Categorically no! Yet, the business of education and the provision of funding for education across most therapy areas does go on. However, the world, particularly the medical education world, is thinking differently now – every major meeting or congress has been cancelled or postponed, so data remain or could remain not discussed, and not contextualised. As educators we cannot let that happen! Here at Touch Medical Media we are continuing to provide education funded by grants from pharmaceutical supporters, our faculty are continuing to engage with us and in fact are keen to do so.
We are working with our faculty to develop some educational snapshots on the impact of COVID-19, specifically in patients with comorbidities. These will be entirely supported by Touch Medical Media. We have however seen a swell of interest from supporting pharmaceutical companies wishing to utilize our well established virtual meetings and educational formats – we launched the first of those recently and are hard at work developing more.
